A group of explorers led by Professor Johnsson of the University of Copenhagen led a trip into the East of Iceland to explore caves and discovered the Viking city of Slagensen. The city was under the ice and was preserved because it was completely covered by an Iceberg that broke off Greenland. The Iceberg is shaped like a rectangle and is three miles in length and two-mile in width. When it came into contact with the shore, part of the bottom of the iceberg broke and it took the shape of an L that went a mile into the land. The city of Slagensen was a coastal city that sat at the bottom of a hill. When the iceberg came in from the ocean it created an ice roof on top of Slagensen when it stopped after it hit the hill. After the iceberg made contact with the land the cold winter temperatures of the time kept the people from leaving because they were trapped in by the snow and the iceberg roof. Professor Johnson investigated a system of caves where bodies that carbon-dated back to the time of the Vikings in the Middle Ages had been found. He investigated the caves for months using radar and found a set of caves that went across the hill. Once he went across the hill he found Slagensen. There he found ships, compasses, weapons, soldiers, houses, and gold that carbon-dated to the time of the Vikings in the Middle Ages. Everything was intact because of the temperature which was -15 degrees Fahrenheit. One of the artifacts that were recovered from the city was an ancient sun compass that helped the Vikings sail across the ocean. Other things that were found were ancient Christian texts that held secrets from the church of England where the Vikings raided.
