Ted Mosby was born on April 25, 1978 in Shaker Heights, Ohio.In the episode, How I Met Everyone else, it implied that Ted Mosby graduated from Wesleyan University as an architect in 2000 with his best friend Marshall that was his roommate in college.They had become best friends since college.Ted is known to have four best friends, Marshall Erikson, Lily Aldrin, Robin Scherbatsky, and Barney Stinson.It is rumored that they all spend their time at MacLaren's Pub which is downstairs from Ted and Marshall's apartment building. After Ted's best friend, Marshall, got engaged to Lily, Ted deicded that he wanted to find his"soulmate." Ted met Robin at MacLaren's when Barney played the infamous game, "Have you met Ted." He instantly believed that he was in love with Robin, although she did not feel the same. Ted and Robin have been through a very rocky and awkward relationship until they decided to split. Barney broke the "bro code" by falling in love with Robin. Ted Mosby is known to be a very hopeless romantic and is always looking for love in all the wrong places. Ted Mosby always thinks of the future to see if he can picture who he is dating at the time sitting on the porch 50 years later. Ted reaches his low point and believes that he will never find "the one." He reconnected with his ex girlfriend from college and it did not work out.
