The Homo Giganticus are a species of humanoid giants that once inhabited this world.  On average they were 18 feet tall, and weighed 4 tons.  The average lifespan of a giant was over 200 years. They were an unintelligent species who were docile by nature and lived on Atlantis Island.

On Atlantis they had a monarchy form of government in which sovereignty was embedded into a single King.  The number of giants living on Atlantis was less than 2,000 because the King had kept the population in check.  This was needed as food was scarce and giants had huge appetites and lifespans.  Only those who gained the King’s favor were allowed to create offspring, and to gain his favor they needed to create grandiose castles and structures to satisfy his lavish lifestyle.

Humans first arrived by boat to Atlantis in 2300 BC.  Upon discovering the giants, the humans found that although the giants looked menacing, they were actually slow-witted and docile creatures.  The humans were awestruck with the lavish and grandiose city which surrounded them, which was actually just a collection of the king's many homes.  They pleaded with the King to have similar grandiose structures created for them in return for exotic foods and goods.  This led to the commissioning of giants to create large pyramids, temples, and other grand structures across the world.  The last known commission the giant king agreed to was the creation of a large boat for a man named Noah.  Unfortunately, the giants were slow-witted, so they did not realize why the man wanted such a large boat.  Soon after Atlantis was struck by a large storm which flooded the island and submerged it deep into the Atlantic Ocean.  Today, the only thing that remains of the Homo Giganticus species are their bones which lie on the ocean floor surrounded by their lavish city.
