Horrorland is a theme park for kids. Typically theme parks are a treat for when children are being good, but Horrorland is one for when they are being bad. It is located in Anaheim where Disneyland used to be. It has been rumored that instead of funny attractions, mascots and rides, there are things that are literally out of nightmares. Mutated pigeons, parakeets, gorillas, and even Godzilla have been spotted by people who passed by it.
"I hope I never have to go there again," cried Billy. Billy's parents thought that he took the cookie out of the cookie jar but it was in fact Mandy, his older sister.
The point of the theme park is to redefine what it means to be "scared straight."
Instead of having Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and many other fan favorites, Horrorland opted for live rats, insects, and other things "straight out of nightmares."
A representative told us that, in addition to saving money, having live rats are really good at making children not want to be there.
The roller coasters are actually little trolleys that drive slowly through a live demonstration of the benefits of algebra, and PE. When one enters, they are automatically forced to change into old used PE clothes, and then have to participate in a mile run and rope climbing competition. The winner gets to move on to more fun activities such as sewing, knitting, and even manual labor.
They are planning to open up locations in Florida, New Orleans, New York, and even Detroit.
