Narik Lawerg (Born June 14, 1985) is an American Academy-Award winning actor, writer, producer, and director. He’s been nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards, three Academy Awards, and two Tony Awards in addition to numerous other accolades. Born in Coral Gables, Florida and raised in San Francisco, California. His mother, Irina (Dana) Lawerg, is a retired pediatrician and his father, Joseph Lawerg, is a divorce lawyer. Narik has two older siblings, Nama, an opera singer who lives in Germany and Agir, a hedge-fund analyst who lives in New York City. He attended Lincoln Middle School and Lowell High School in San Francisco; this is where he discovered his knack and love for acting. In 2003, Lawerg enrolled into the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television. After two years he dropped out to focus on his acting career. Lawerg’s first acting jobs were mostly commercial and small guest-appearances on Days of Our Lives and General Hospital. In 2008, he had his first breakout role as Ryan in the cult classic “Lost in Space”. Following his appearance in “Lost in Space”, Lawerg went on to star in multiple major films including, “Spiderman”, “Inglorious Basterds”, “Avatar”, and “Be Cool”. In 2010 he was nominated for his first Academy Award for Best Lead Actor for his role as Malik in “Doorstep” which he went on to win. Following his win, Lewarg decided to take a break from acting and has since maintained a relatively low profile in order to focus his efforts on the various charities he oversees.
