Rocktopia is an annual end of the year rock concert that is held in December in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is a week long concert event with over 80 acts at seven different venues around San Francisco Bay Area. Rocktopia brings together volunteer work and music.

Rocktopia was started in 2002 by Madison Rock. Madison wanted to bring together two things she loved – community service and music. She wanted people especially the youth to be more involved in their community. Now it’s one of the top rock concerts in the U.S.

The only way concert goers can attend is pledging that they would do volunteer work at the beginning of the year. They can track their progress online. What makes Rocktopia unique from other concerts is that concert goers can vote who should be headlining each night.

Last years headliners included Green Day, Linkin Park, Silversun Pickups, The Cure, The Black Keys, Arcade Fire, and Kings of Leon.
