In 1948 a farmer in Illinois reported proof of the animal invasion. It was the first case the animals was seen. The farmer's name remains anonymous. It has killed the enormous amount of animals on his farm. Estimation of a total over 400 of cows, chickens, horses, goats, and birds have killed within one night. The animals were found the next day with drained blood and severe injured on bodies. The most common evidence could found was scratches on animals' bodies and a deep wound mark with diameter around 0.5 inches on neck area.

American scientist Thomas Johnson tested the animal piece of scale and its saliva on the animal's wound. To his surprisingly, he found that Sanguines is a venomous animal that killed the prey within seconds.  This creature is armed with sharp, pointed, and dent teeth shape. It produces toxic saliva, which is a compound of anticoagulant and venom to attack its prey after they made contact through a small incision.
