Simon Timothy Curran (born November 8th, 1985) is an American actor, and singer/songwriter, best known for his role as Jerry Dalton in the popular sitcom, I Don't Care About You. Curran also fronts the psychedelic-indie rock band, The Bright Suns.
Simon Timothy Curran was born to Marcus and Cindy Curran, in the suburbs of Fresno, California. Being raised in a devout Protestant-Christian household, Curran began acting at the early age of seven – eagerly participating in holiday productions for local churches. He continued his budding acting career throughout grade school, eventually receiving lead roles in popular local productions of Othello, Oliver, Peter Pan, and Godspell. Curran attended BIOLA University in La Mirada, California, located in Los Angeles County.
Curran made his network television debut on the Disney Channel original series, My Life As A Teenaged Teenager, as Charlie. The show was a flop, and barely lasted through it's 13-episode pilot season. Despite failure, however, Curran's performance managed to catch the attention of WMEA talent genius, Gerald Scott. Taking a liking to Curran's youthful exuberance and “James Dean” attitude, Scott began submitting Simon to talent scouts. After a string of auditions, he landed the lead role in I Don't Care About You, in 2009. Curran and his co-star Jessica Robertson were nominated for “Best On-Screen Romance” by the Teen Choice Awards in 2010.
Currently, Curran resides in Los Angeles County, where he continues his acting career, and occasionally performs with local “superstar” indie band, The Bright Suns. Comprised of other network TV actors, and popular musicians (including Florence Daugr of Lakeside Drive), the band recently entered the studio to record their first full-length album.
