Clark Kent, the man of steel, is believed to have come from the far away planet of Krypton. While planet Krypton played host to a horrific war, It’s believed Clark’s father, Jor-El, sent his baby boy to planet earth in search of a safe haven. Clark was found in his starcraft on the front yard of Jonathan and Martha Kent’s house. The Kents lived on a farm in Smallville, Kansas. Being taken in by this loving family, Clark started to grown and develop his Kryptonian body. As Clark grew he started to develop superhuman abilities. Once old enough, Jonathan and Martha decided to show Clark his starcraft, putting to rest any doubt he had of himself. From that moment on, Clark decided to use his powers for the good of mankind. Through various incidents where Clark protected, saved, and rescued mankind, Superman was born.
Standing at 6’3” and weighting 235 pounds, Superman is an opposing figure. Being a native of Krypton, his Kryptonian cells absorb the rays from the sun which power his superhuman abilities. According to civilian witnesses, Superman “possesses tremendous strength and it’s believed his body is virtually indestructible.” Superman’s arsenal consists of telescopic vision, microscopic vision, x-ray vision, heat vision, and a sharp hearing sense. Telescopic vision allows Superman to visually focus on people and objects at an incredible range. Microscopic vision allows him to observe objects like no one else. Superman’s x-ray vision allows him to see through virtually any solid object besides dense materials such as lead. It’s believed once angered, Superman can extract heat from his eyes and create “heat vision.” Along with these superhuman abilities, Superman defies gravity with his ability to fly at an incredible speed, also, Superman moves, reacts and thinks at a superhuman level.
According to Superman’s arch nemesis, Lex Luthor, the Kryptonian poses one weakness, being exposed to Kryptonite. Kryptonite, a substance of planet Krypton, radiates rays which weaken Superman’s abilities. In a contest of superhuman ability versus science, Superman and Lex Luthor are constantlytesting each others limits. While most Metropolis civilians, at one time or another, have seen Superman in action, most do not know the man under the tight suit. Clark Kent purposely hides his Superman identity because, although Kryptonian, he tries to live a normal life. A news reporter for the Daily Planet by day and Superman by night, It’s believed, Clark Kent fully intends to continue roaming the streets and flying above the city he swears to protect.
