The Decision 2014 was an hour long broadcast in which NBA Allstar Lebron James announced that he would return to his previous team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. It was broadcasted live on July 15th, 2014. The Decision 2 became the most watched television special in US history with 89% of households watching. When Lebron was asked why he wanted to return to the Cavaliers, he told reporters “ I want to be the hero that saves Cleveland from the Cleveland curse”.

The Big 3-1Edit

After Lebrons Decision to join the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Cavs became the first team in history to have three starters who were first picks in their respective drafts. The trio of Anthony Bennet, Kyrie Irving, and Lebron James became known as the Big 3-1. The Big 3-1 was also the first team to have three Rookie of the Year’s on a single team.

The AftermathEdit

The season following The Decision 2014, Lebron James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 78-4 season. This record was eight wins higher than the previous record, which was held by the Chicago Bulls. When asked about his record being beaten, former NBA player Michael Jordan told the media “ What can I say? He is the greatest of all time”. In the 2015 NBA Finals, The Big 3-1 were able to defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder in a 4-0 sweep. This was the first time since 1964 that any major sports team in Cleveland has won a championship. Following the championship win, the people of Ohio declared Lebron James the mayor of Cleveland.
