Tiega tea is produced in Kanji County, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province which was invented in 1715-1735.

Tiega tea belongs to the oolong tea family which is considered to be one of China’s finest teas. It is also known to be a semi-fermented tea. Semi-fermented teas are crossbreeds between green and black teas. The characteristics of Tiega tea include: curly, knotted, straight, and wavy.

In October 2012, scientists have found that Tiega tea contains more than 450 kinds of organic ingredients, and Tiega tea has a total of 43 kinds of inorganic mineral elements. Tiega tea’s organic ingredients and inorganic mineral elements contain many nutrients and medicinal components. Tiega tea’s organic ingredients includes: tea polyphenols, alkaloids, proteins, vitamins, pectin elements, organic acids, LPS, carbohydrates, enzymes, pigments. In particular, Tiega tea contains organic ingredients, such as polyphenols, catechins and amino acids are significantly higher than the other teas.

According to the world health organization, Tiega tea not only have general health functions like other teas, but also has anti-aging, anti-cancer, anti-arteriosclerosis, diabetes control, diet fitness, prevention and treatment of dental caries, heat pathogenic fire, enemy smoke hangover and other effects.

According the medical studies, Tiega tea contains more polyphenols, catechins and amino acids than others. Although these substances do not have much impact on healthy people, it does provide nutrients for those who have poor gastrointestinal function especially in patients who are chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract which will help stimulate the gastrointestinal mucosa that causes stomach problems.
